Comedy and Everything Else Episode 145

This Week:

With Celebrity voices from Mike MacRae.

Each week Jimmy Dore, Stefane Zamorano and guests get together to talk about comedy, and everything else on their minds.

If you’re new to this podcast, welcome to the party! We’ve had many interesting and well-known guests on the show, and there’s bound to be something thought-provoking in each episode.

Very good work…even the odd little dropouts on Skype were ameliorated by the quality of the equipment.

Bones to pick…why champion Bill Clinton?, the man who never saw a welfare roll he couldn’t turn into more homelessness, who sold as much of the country out to big business as he possibly could (he and Gore “Reinventing Government” as Big Business’s Best Friend), who basically was never too far from Newt Gingrich in all but small details and labels.

Of course, Clinton looks better than W, but even Nixon was better than W (or Clinton, and remember Clinton’s heartfelt eulogy for Nixon) in a number of ways…even Carter…even Reagan, for goodness’s sake. Millard Fillmore might not’ve been any worse.

And I’ll still cite the Mary Kay Letourneaus of the last decade, more than a few of them, for those who would assume the ill-advised hormonal urges reside with the men only. And, of course, Morgan Freeman hasn’t done (and his story broke more than a year ago, particularly on NPR’s discussion shows…surprised it’s just coming up for you now) anything that Woody Allen hasn’t done before him, at least as creepily. Though perhaps more held Allen to task for it since it seemed so novel at the time.

But must concur with PFT’s suggestion that getting such a paragon of bad judgement out of such a position, even in the House or the Mayor’s mansion as opposed to Even Larger office, is probably not the worst idea.

A lot of fun here, and if I wasn’t so beat from work, etc., I’d detail it more. Thanks. Now to go get you guys a little kickback from Amazon.com.

Hilarious episode. Thanks for making me seem like a loon laughing loudly in my office.

Loved the episode! I just recently started listening to the Jimmy Dore Show recently and I really really enjoy it. Especially the bit a few weeks back about Sally Kern. Fuck that cunt.

I’m about to put this on my ipod and listen to it instead of sleeping, but I wanted to stop in and say thank you for giving me two wonderful shows to fill my insomniac nights with.

That Morgan Freeman call is so freaking funny. And I love Paul F. Tompkins. So why don’t I marry him? Well, because he went and married some gorgeous actress last year. And oh yeah, I’m in love with my boyfriend, Eric… :)
Will the Morgan Freeman call be posted on You Tube or anything like that? Or is it already, perhaps? The calls from Bill O’Reilly (to the KPFK show) are also stupendously entertaining.
Thanks Jimmy and Stef (and PFT) for another terrific show!

I love Comedy and everyting else! Fun podcast and lots of great guests. PFT is one of my favorite comedians and it was great to hear him on here. What was not great however, was hearing Jimmy Dore’s jealousy weirdly poisoning the last third of the interview. Why would you begrudge someone a passing mention in a magazine? I really enjoyed this interview up to this point, but was very sad to hear the conversation get so awkward at the end.

Aydeyami, thanks for the compliment pal, I love office loons!

Zach you are very welcome, glad to help out an insomniac.

Pelkey, you continue to have great taste.

Ted, I loved your comment, it was great, always glad to hear from fans who love the show!

What was not great however was about 3/4 of the way in when you let us know that you didn’t get the collegial joking between two friends. Great comment overall, but it was very sad to see the last 1/4 of it go so badly off the rails. But don’t beat yourself up over it, even I don’t get humor and jokes sometime, and I do it for a living.

Thanks for listening!

If you were talking about warp tour like it sounds like. A lot of people might have just been there for We the Kings. Youtuber CTFxC’s band. A lot of people just wanted to go as if it was a Youtube gathering.
