Hey Jimmy,

the next time you talk to Ben, can you ask him why he thinks Snowden should do jail time? On TYT, it didn’t make sense to me the way he was expressing it. He agrees that the revelations were important. He agrees that the government has been violating the constitution, but he still thinks the person who revealed that should go to jail. Most of the people I see who want Snowden in jail are the criminals in government who support the program or rah-rah, my country right or wrong morons. While I strongly disagree with them, I can at least understand why they think the way they do, because they’re either corrupt or dumb.

But Ben’s a good guy, a smart guy. He usually has good ideas and makes good points. So, what’s the deal? I get the impression that he’s trying to say that we shouldn’t incentivize the spreading of state secrets, because we have to have state secrets to protect “us” from “our” enemies. But the government doesn’t work for “us”, they work for the 1%, the handlers with the cash on the other end of the leash. The spy agencies are not spying for “us”, as in the people, either. They are not protecting us from some evil enemy that seeks to destroy us. This country has been on an imperial tear since World War II, and they have done some pretty horrendous things in the goal of being an empire (or super power if you prefer euphemisms) and the spy agencies are a huge part of that whole military-industrial complex. The terrorism that attacked on 9/11 was blowback from countless murderous, military operations done by our government, by our military and with the help of our spy agencies. If someone is courageous enough to lose their life, their comfort, and the overwhelming temptation that having access to all that information would be to anyone, over catching these criminals with their pants down, over believing in what America is supposed to stand for, why on Earth would we punish them for that?

So why does Ben want to protect these guys and their right to keep all these secrets? These are not “good guys”. There are no “good guys”. This isn’t a movie. This is real life, where there is only power which corrupts and people who are corrupted by it. And the only thing that can defend against it, or at least give the people a fighting chance to guard against it, is transparency and sunlight.

Great to hear Jim Earl back on the show! Wish he and Steve R. would release the 5th “30 minutes of crap” podcast. Been waiting for that for a long time.

I have got to listen to this and I can’t wait. I am just getting caught up on things. I just listened to the premium content and I loved it. You guys are amazing and I am going to listen to the main podcast first then this. Then get caught up on TYT stuff. I still haven’t watched all of the live shows with Jimjam let alone the post games. I love how hilarious these are and hope I catch up with everything soon.

TJDS podcast is hilarious. I love how you talked about how that perfectly timed joke was written. My favorites in this podcast are the panda bear and palm squirrel. I am so glad the palm squirrel is back on. I hope Steve comes back on for a show but I only want him to if he is ready to. I know he is still probably dealing with a lot and still isn’t ready to. The show is amazing no matter what because you have the TYT crew on sometimes. That makes it more unique and I never know who you will have on in a week. Unlike others I except the change of this show. It is always hilarious no matter what.

thank you-thank you-thank you-thank you
oh,what the hell, one more thank you!!!!
jim earl is back!!!
arguably the funniest of all of you!!!(just kidding)
now, where the hell is steve !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The premium content is hilarious. Also Frank Coniff’s podcast was the best one so far. That podcast was extremely demented. I hope they keep getting more demented and even better.

That anonymous was me sorry for forgetting to type my screen name in.

I had to comeback here because there is something that just started to bother me after listening to a TYT thing. Nobody brought up that all Bush and Chaney inherited was a HUGE surplus. They didn’t inherit anything besides that. Then they spent it. WTF is Chaney talking about inheriting a shitty economy and pointless war?
